"Use lacquerware on a daily basis"

KAMAKURABORI has a history of over 700 years. The general Kamakurabori (kamakura sculpture) are carved with plant patterns and colored with vermillion lacquer.

However, the work of Yazawa is not gorgeous peculiar to the Kamakurabori, but rather a form and color that is familiar to the living space.

Yazawa, a craftsman of the Kamakurabori, has already over 50 years experience as a craftsman.
This representative work of Yazawa "GINSAI" series uses silver powder.
Some people may feel that using silver is a bit luxurious. However, the GINSAI series harmonizes with the shape of a simple vessel, and it has all the instruments familiar with the living.

"Make a lacquerware with making good use of nature"

Yazawa loves ancient vessels whose shape is beautiful and nature has been utilized.
He is exploring to make lacquer ware that make full use of the original nature of wood and lacquer, nature itself.
And continues to make lacquerware that can be used easily and everyday.

"Grow lacquerware"

Yazawa frequently says that "lacquer ware is raised."
The use of lacquer ware not only increases the gloss but also the strength increases as it is used.
Use it, raise it, hand it to the next generation.
Lacquerware has such charm.

Yazawa said, "I love old lacquerware, the old lacquer is really beautiful."
We want to continue using Yazawa's lacquer ware until it is old.
